Dr. Michael R. Chipps

As Area President of Northeast Community College in Nebraska, Dr. Chipps is responsible for the major campus in Norfolk, three extended campuses, two regional offices and more than 60 education sites serving the 20-county area in northeast Nebraska.

Known as an innovator in higher education and workforce development, Chipps has served as an international higher education consultant for more than 60 colleges and universities and is frequently called on to serve on national and regional commissions of higher education. In 2010, he was elected to the AACC Board of Directors and in 2011 was elected to serve on the Board of Trustees of the Higher Learning Commission. In 2012, Chipps was elected to the Board of Directors as the American representative for the World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics, which serves the global higher education community of more than 100 countries. In 2015, Chipps was appointed to serve on the Phi Theta Kappa International Academic Honor Society’s President’s Advisory Council.

Cathy N. Davidson, Ph.D.

Cathy is one of the most widely quoted experts on education innovation today. A distinguished scholar of the history of technology, she is an avid proponent of active ways of learning that help students understand and navigate the radically changed world in which we now all live, work, and learn. Cathy is a Distinguished Professor of English and Founding Director of the Futures Initiative at the Graduate Center, CUNY, and the R.F. DeVarney Professor Emerita of Interdisciplinary Studies at Duke University where she served as Duke’s (and the nation’s) first Vice Provost for Interdisciplinary Studies.

Cathy is the cofounding director of HASTAC, Humanities, Arts, Science and Technology Alliance and Collaboratory, and serves of the Board of Directors of Mozilla. Her books include Now You See It, The Future of Thinking: Learning Institutions in a Digital Age, and most recently, The New Education: How to Revolutionize the University to Prepare Students for a World in Flux.

David DeLong, Ph.D.

Dr. David Delong has devoted his career helping leaders find solutions to critical skills shortages. He has spent more than 20 years studying the strategic impacts of changing workforce demographics and knowledge loss on organizational performance and is widely quoted in the New York Times, Fortune Magazine, the Wall Street Journal, and the Financial Times. His books include The Executive Guide to High-Impact Talent Management: Powerful Tools for Leveraging a Changing Workforce and Lost Knowledge: Confronting the Threat of an Aging Workforce.

Bonnie Beresford, Ph.D.

Bonnie Beresford is the Director of Performance and Learning Analytics at GP Strategies focused on management consulting in the automotive retail industry. Her background includes ground-breaking human capital studies for Chrysler. She also was Vice President at Capital Analytics, an organization that measures the impact of learning interventions on corporate strategies.

She is a graduate of Bellevue University’s Ph.D. program in Human Capital Management, and a frequent speaker at conferences on the topic. She is coauthor of the book, Developing Human Capital: Using Analytics to Plan and Optimize Your Learning and Development Investments.

Michael Horn

Michael Horn speaks and writes about the future of education and works with a portfolio of education organizations, including Bellevue University, to improve the life of each and every student. His soon-to-be-published book, Choosing College, will help students and their parents navigate the complex issues around selecting and affording a college education.

Michael is the co-founder and a distinguished fellow at the Clayton Christensen Institute for Disruptive Innovation, a non-profit think tank, and he serves as a principal consultant for Entangled Solutions, which offers innovation services to higher education institutions.

He is the author and coauthor of multiple books, white papers, and articles on education, including the award-winning book Disrupting Class: How Disruptive Innovation Will Change the Way the World Learns. Michael was named to Tech&Learning magazine’s 2014 list of 100 most important people in the creation and advancement of the use of technology in education.

Michael co-hosts Future U Podcast with Jeff Selingo, a discussion and interviews with newsmakers in education, focused on the future of colleges, learning, and human capital.

Avi Kahn

Avi Kahn is president and CEO of Hilti North America’s operations, overseeing businesses in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and Guam. Prior to this role, he served as president of Hilti Canada. Kahn holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, Information Technology from the Interdisciplinary Center and a Master of Business Administration, International Business from Bellevue University.

The international Hilti Group supplies the worldwide construction industry with technologically leading products, services, and software for the construction industry.

Elliott Masie

Elliott Masie is a futurist, analyst, and speaker – focused on the changing world of the workplace, learning, and technology.

He is the editor of Learning TRENDS by Elliott Masie, an Internet newsletter read by over 52,000 business executives worldwide, and a regular columnist in professional publications, including CLO Magazine. He is the author of a dozen books and is the convener of Learning 2018.

Elliott heads The MASIE Center, a Saratoga Springs, New York, think tank focused on how organizations can support learning and knowledge within the workforce. He leads the Learning CONSORTIUM, a coalition of 230 global organizations cooperating on the evolution of learning strategies, including CNN, Walmart, American Express, Farmers Insurance, Emirates Airline, Starbucks, General Electric, and Fidelity Investments. He is currently working with Michelle Obama on her Reach Higher initiative, the effort to inspire every student in the U.S. to take charge of their future by completing their education past high school.
